From building materials, electrical supplies, paint, timber floors, bathroom equipment, gas fires, solid fuel stoves, garden furniture, household items and everything the DIY enthusiast could possibly need.OverviewReporting to the Managing Director of the Builders Merchant Division of the Chadwicks Group, the General Manager for our Telfords business is responsible for the P&L of the business in line with the profit and revenue targets, overseeing the day to day running of this business as well as developing and implementing the strategy for growth of the business.Knowledge & ExperienceAn experienced business leader in a comparable role, preferably with experience in area management of multi-site locations.Holding a business degree an MBA or similar post graduate qualification would be desirable.Experience of driving a sales development strategy would be a positive addition.3 + years in a similar senior position.Demonstratable ability to grow a business.Excellent communication skills with the ability to set a vision for the business.The capacity to identify and address challenges, make informed decisions, think creatively, and propose innovative solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading the business to ensure a smooth, efficient and effective retail operation across two locationsOperational with a focus on optimising efficiency, productivity and profitability. This role holds overall responsibility for achieving revenue and margin budgets targets.Work with the Chadwicks group merchant division to drive efficiency and alignment across functions.Leading strategy to drive both B2B and B2C sales.Lead change initiatives to ensure the business remains relevant to the market and have a sustainable business model for the future, contributing to the development of digital strategy, business progress and route to market.Co-ordinate assessments of our customer and market needs, analyse competition and assist in providing alternative tactics, solutions and support.Responsible for managing all safety aspects within the area of own responsibility.Support and develop your team, ensuring clear targets and objectives are defined and met regularly.
