Responsibilities
Determine correct stock levels across all product lines to ensure sufficient stock without overstocking.
Ensure an effective Daily Gate Sheet is in operation.
Ensure the branch is only supplied with goods that are on purchase orders.
Manage defective and/or unacceptable goods with suppliers, ensuring returns and credit notes are received.
Maintain and monitor special orders and negative stocks.
Manage branch goods inwards system.
Deal with branch purchasing and redundant stock issues.
Prepare and implement a monthly cycle count schedule.
Police goods storage, meeting all health and safety requirements.
Work closely with the Group Stock Controller to achieve targets.
Coordinate twice-yearly stock takes and cycle counts.
Deal with suppliers, negotiate prices, place orders and ensure orders are received and processed appropriately within the goods inwards system.
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail.
Experience in a similar role.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Team player.
Relevant building materials knowledge is an advantage.
