NoOffer DescriptionApplications are invited for a temporary post of a Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2 within School of Biomolecular & Biomedical Science. Wastewater analysis enables the identification and monitoring of emerging trends for a wide-ranging number of health issues including the detection of viruses and the surveillance of the use of prescription medications and controlled substances. At present, a range of pathogenic viruses are quantified and characterised by our team as part of the National Wastewater Surveillance Programme which covers 70% of the population in Ireland.We are now seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual with expertise in mass spectrometry to join our team to participate in the National Wastewater Surveillance Project for drug trend analysis in Ireland, funded by the Health Service Executive. The successful candidate will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary team of researchers based in the UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science, the UCD School of Chemistry and the HSE National Social Inclusion Office. PD1 Salary Range: €46,305 - €52,863 per annum ; PD2 Fixed Salary: €54,307 per annum.Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.Closing date: 12:00 noon (local Irish time) on 17/02/2026.Applications must be submitted by the closing date and time specified. As with the PD1, if you have already completed your PD2 stage in UCD or will soon complete a PD2, or your total Postdoctoral experience, inclusive of the duration of the advertised post, would exceed 6 years, you should not apply and should refer to Research Fellow posts instead.
