Service Manager, Foster Care TeamFoster Care TeamThis is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Work Manager to join a dynamic team.The Foster Care team has been working with a client areas since 2019. We offer a suite of 'recruit-to-approval' services to supplement one of our client's recruitment and assessment of prospective Foster Carers. We design Foster Carer recruitment campaigns. We manage screening of applicants, carry out a range of assessments and undertake independent reviews of Foster Carers. The nature and scope of the services delivered is determined by the Commissioner.Currently we work with Tusla areas in Dublin, Kerry, Mid-West, Southeast and the Separated Children Seeking International Protection (SCSIP) Service.Our team includes an Administration team who manage files and obtain all supporting documentation for assessments and reviews. Our Admin also supports our social work staff and works with the business support person regarding invoicing. Our assessment team are based around the country, and we are continually looking to expand this team of independent social workers.What you need to have:CORU Registration as a Social WorkerAt least five years' experience in the management of social work servicesYou must be able to demonstrate:In-depth knowledge of fostering and child welfareLeadership and creativity in setting the strategic direction of servicesAbility to work with multiple stakeholders in the context of a complex practice and regulatory environmentCommitment and drive to perform at the highest levelClinical/Professional Supervision:Provided by an external professional Social Work SupervisorHours of work: 35 hours a weekSalary:To be advised but will be commensurate with the senior level of the post.Responsible for:Development of business plans for the development of the serviceOverview of the operational aspects of the service to ensure that all work is to a high standard and is in accordance with the Child Care (Placement of Children in Foster Care) Regulations 1995; the National Standards for Foster Care 2003, Foster Care Committees Policy and Procedures and Best Practice Guidance 2017 and the National Assessment Framework for Foster Care.Line management of assessors and any independent supervisorsAllocation of assessments to assessing Social Workers.Liaison with Commissioners to include identifying new commissioning areas and negotiating new business.Any other duties as may be deemed appropriate
