Job Title Better Energy Homes (BEH) Engineer Salary €74,701 pa (Other arrangements may apply if you are currently a serving civil or public servant) Tenure 5-year fixed term contract Work Location Dublin Closing Date Midnight, Wednesday 7th January **** Role Profile We have an exciting opportunity in the Better Energy Homes Team in the Delivery Department of the National Retrofit Directorate.
The position will play a key role in supporting the Programme Manager with the roll out of new initiatives and systems, underpinned by governance and compliance structures.
As Better Energy Homes Engineer you will be expected to lead on technical compliance and alignment with other programmes for both existing and new initiatives, lead on the technical resolution of cases, support IT projects, and train colleagues.
This role will report to the Better Energy Homes Programme Manager.
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and innovative team who are committed to the high-quality delivery of SEAI's targets under the Climate Action Plan.
Essential Requirements The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate: An honours degree (a minimum NFQ level 8 or greater) in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Energy Management, and minimum of 5 years directly relevant experience working in similar programme or on retrofitting or energy-related projects.
Or An ordinary degree (a minimum NFQ level 7 or greater) in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Energy Management, and minimum of 8 years directly relevant experience working in similar programme or on retrofitting or energy-related projects.
Or A third level certificate (a minimum NFQ Level 6 or greater) in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Energy Management, and minimum of 10 years directly relevant experience working in similar programme or on retrofitting or energy-related projects.
Experience of working in cross functional teams developing organisational relationships.
Experience delivering positive customer experiences.
Strong project management skills and knowledge of technical development, including change management, scope, risk, and process management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presenting, public speaking, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Well-developed IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Desirable Requirements A post-graduate qualification in any of the above disciplines - Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Energy Management.
Programme management experience.
Experience in supporting IT projects.
Experience of lean process management.
Experience of people management and training.
Experience or knowledge of delivering positive customer experiences.
There may be a requirement for the successful candidate to further develop specialist knowledge and expertise relevant to the role.
Training will be encouraged (formal and informal) and supported where required.
Eligibility to Work The SEAI has a legal obligation to ensure that all employees are lawfully entitled to work in Ireland.
To qualify, candidates must hold a valid visa on the date of application and where applicable to support a candidate's application, candidates must submit a valid work permit/visa confirming permission to work in Ireland when requested.
