Job Title: Senior Physiotherapist – Orthopaedic Inpatient Service
Contract: Full-time (35 hours per week, includes on-call/standby and one late evening)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Physiotherapist to lead and deliver a high-quality Orthopaedic Inpatient Service. This role combines clinical expertise, leadership, and service development to ensure timely, patient-centred care.
Clinical & Professional
Lead the delivery of an effective orthopaedic inpatient physiotherapy service
Ensure timely assessment and treatment of patients in line with best practice
Deliver prehabilitation, rehabilitation, and joint education programmes
Support outpatient orthopaedic services as required
Support and supervise student placements
Leadership & Management
Coordinate and support the orthopaedic physiotherapy team
Provide mentorship to staff, students, and assistants
Contribute to service planning, policy updates, and performance management
Participate in on-call and standby rota
Quality, Safety & Operations
Ensure compliance with health & safety standards
Oversee equipment safety and maintenance
Support IT systems for data collection and audit
Requirements
Degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) essential
CORU registration essential
Minimum 2 years’ experience, including orthopaedic inpatient/ward-based experience essential
Postgraduate training in Orthopaedics, MSK, or Advanced Practice Desirable
Experience in outpatient MSK, ICU, or cardiothoracic physiotherapy Desirable
