JOB TITLE: IT Project Manager
REPORTING TO: Group Head of IT
The IT Project Manager will report to the Group Head of IT and is responsible for successfully delivering and ensuring a successful outcome to projects across the FRS business group. You will work closely with the program team and business stakeholders as a member of the IT team to lead a variety of technology projects, in the areas of Finance, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Human Resources (HR), online delivery (e-Learning & e-Commerce) and more.
The IT project manager will plan, organise, and integrate cross-functional information technology projects that are significant in scope and impact. They will coordinate tasks of other IT team members and project team members to produce plans that support successful delivery of all projects. Projects may include enhancements to existing systems or implementation of new systems and vary in size.
PURPOSE OF IT PROJECT MANAGER
As an IT Project Manager within the FRS Network, you will own the delivery of IT projects from initiation through to project closure. You will be accountable for delivering IT Projects across the wider FRS Coop group and will work on more than one project simultaneously depending on the size of the projects. You will guide the project team and business leads as needed to ensure successful delivery of your projects and ensure non-technical project resources know the role they play in the project and subsequent transition to business as usual. You will also own and enhance the IT change control process, ensuring changes are logged and the pipeline of work prioritised and maintained. Demonstrated ability to work within a comprehensive systems transformation program team, effectively with multiple interdependent projects to ensure seamless integration and successful outcomes."
PERSON PROFILE
You will have strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, be highly organised and efficient, be a strong communicator who can work well with people and build great relationships across the business. You will have excellent analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the development of initial project plans & proposals, detailed business cases and high-quality business requirements/use cases for new projects.
1. Manage all aspects of the project execution including: chartering, scope definition, requirements gathering, project planning, resources and timetables through phases including systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT), change control and reporting to complete project/program on time and within budget.
1. Identify and utilise the right approach to fit the needs of each individual project, leveraging experience using multiple project management methodologies…agile, waterfall etc…
1. Implement a project governance structure that facilitates mitigation of risks, clear communication and assessment of any relevant changes
2. Keep Department Heads and wider management updated on project status and risk factors.
3. Collaborate with other departments or third parties necessary to ensure successful end to end completion of your projects for example HR, L & D, Finance, Compliance etc……
4. Build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years project management experience in a business improvement environment
- Proven experience in agile project management methodologies and successful ERP implementation projects (Microsoft Business central implementation experience desirable)
- PMP/Prince2 certified
- Understanding of software development life cycle
- Proficiency in Microsoft Packages including: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio
- Experience of driving process change within and across organisation
