Care Leader Job Summary:
The care leader role is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality care to residents in a residential setting. The position entails supervising and coordinating the activities of care assistants, ensuring that individual care plans are implemented effectively, and promoting the physical and emotional well-being of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of care assistants to ensure that best practice standards are maintained
* Ensure that individual care plans are delivered effectively, taking into account the unique needs and preferences of each resident
* Promote the physical and emotional well-being of residents through regular monitoring and support
* Maintain open lines of communication with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
* Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the quality of care provided
* Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of care staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the quality of care provided
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or equivalent
* Experience working in a healthcare environment, with a good understanding of HIQA standards
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, staff, and external partners
* Able to lead and manage teams, with a focus on empowerment and autonomy
* Caring, kind, patient, and empathetic nature, with a commitment to providing person-centered care
* Fluent level of English, both written and oral
