This role includes leading a team of automation engineers, serving as the technical SME for DeltaV systems, and collaborating cross-functionally with operations, quality, validation, and global technology teams.Key Responsibilities:Technical LeadershipServe as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Emerson DeltaV DCS platforms, ensuring system integrity and availability.Lead complex troubleshooting efforts, root cause analyses, and corrective actions for automation issues.Design and implement process control strategies to support manufacturing operations, tech transfers, and continuous improvement projects.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (FDA, cGMP, GAMP, etc.) for all DeltaV automation activities.Oversee change control processes for DeltaV modifications and manage configuration management best practices.Team ManagementLead, mentor, and develop a team of automation engineers supporting DeltaV operations.Assign and prioritize workload, provide performance feedback, and foster a culture of technical excellence and accountability.Guide professional development, training, and onboarding for junior engineers and contractors.Project Execution & CollaborationManage and execute site automation projects, from requirements gathering and design through FAT/SAT, commissioning, and validation.Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, IT, and global engineering to ensure integrated and reliable automation systems.Support new equipment integration and facility expansions, coordinating with cross-functional project teams.Compliance & Lifecycle ManagementEnsure systems are maintained in a validated state through proper documentation, testing, and procedures.Support audit readiness and actively participate in internal and external inspections.Lead lifecycle assessments and planning for DeltaV hardware/software upgrades, patches, and obsolescence mitigation.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar.Minimum 7+ years of experience in process automation with a focus on DeltaV DCS systems in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment.Proven experience in leading teams and managing technical staff.Strong understanding of cGMPs, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and computer system validation.Hands-on experience with batch automation, S88 standards, and process control strategy development.
