ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement strategic direction for engineering teams while ensuring alignment with business objectivesDevelop and mentor team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvementOversee planning, estimation, budgeting, and risk analysis to enhance predictability and efficiencyIntroduce and apply industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and lean product development principlesDrive standardisation and reuse across projects to optimise design quality, cost, and timelinesLead technical reviews, ensuring robust designs that meet performance, manufacturability, and serviceability standardsInitiate and implement improvement projects to strengthen product reliability and lifecycle managementCollaborate with multi‑functional leaders to deliver integrated product solutions from concept through to production and service
Qualifications and ExperienceStrong background in mechanical, electronic, or embedded software engineering with at least a BSc in a recognised engineering field (MSc preferred)Minimum 15 years of experience leading engineering product development teams or managing a functional group of engineersSkilled in building and scaling teams, including the ability to manage managers, coach and mentor talent, and build high‑performing teamsDemonstrated ability to manage complex projects, apply risk‑based decision‑making, and deliver reliable, customer‑focused solutionsExperience leading initiatives to drive organizational development and foster business growth in a manufacturing or product‑focused settingStrong collaboration skills with the ability to partner across technical, commercial, and operational functions
Compensation, Location and Work ArrangementsOur target base salary range for this role is between €125,000 and €140,000 per year, complemented by a competitive bonus structure and a comprehensive benefits package.Primary Work Location: IRL Limerick - CastletroyOn-site presence: Our policy prioritizes on-site collaboration; typically requires a minimum of 4 days in the office per week to maintain culture and performance.
