Job Title: Safety Management Professional

About the Role:

\

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Safety Management Professional. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, customers, and stakeholders.

\

Responsibilities:

\
\
1. Develop, implement, and maintain effective health, safety, and environmental management systems that meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
\
2. Conduct regular risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
\
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety procedures, policies, and protocols.
\
4. Provide training and support to employees on health, safety, and environmental procedures and protocols.
\
5. Investigate incidents, near misses, and complaints, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
\
6. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
\
7. Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
\
8. Manage and maintain accurate records of safety data, including incident reports, hazard registers, and risk assessments.
\
9. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve safety performance.
\
10. Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and promote eco-friendly practices.
\\-Review and update safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure they remain relevant and effective.\\-Support business development activities by providing expert advice on safety and environmental matters.\\-Mentor and coach junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge in health, safety, and environment.\\-Participate in site audits, inspections, and evaluations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.\\-Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals and objectives.\\-Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.\\-Develop and manage budgets for safety-related projects and initiatives.\\-Other duties as required.\\-Requirements:\

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

\

11. A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
\
12. Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety management or related role.
\
13. Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety management systems.
\
14. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
\
15. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
\
16. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
\
17. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
\
18. Project management skills and experience working with budgets.
\\-Certification in OH&S (e.g., CSP, CHSP) an asset.\\-Membership in a professional association (e.g., AIHS, IOSH) an asset.\\-Experience working with ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 an asset.\\-Knowledge of chemical handling and COSHH assessment an asset.\\-Willingness to obtain a full clean driving license and access to a vehicle.\\-Ability to travel as required.\\-Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.\\-Benefits:\
