Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in MV systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and engineering activities of MV systems on construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direction and leadership for the design and engineering of MV systems on project level.
* Coordinate technical design with onsite installation through to commissioning, ensuring that all designs comply with project specifications and IEC/IEEE standards.
* Develop and manage MV system designs and engineering activities across various projects and geographical regions.
* Compile and issue electrical technical submittals, manage submittals through the approvals process, and track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment.
* Attend supply chain meetings to monitor progress and ensure timely completion of works.
* Update and record progress on system trackers aligned with construction schedules.
* Review electrical installations with BIM teams to ensure constructibility and adequate space for installation and maintenance.
* Liaise with design teams and supply chain to ensure correct operation of plant on site and successful handover.
* Complete electrical system walk-downs to ensure systems are compliant with specifications and drawings.
* Manage specialist vendors during commissioning process.
* Undertake client training in line with agreed training plans.
* Develop, review, and validate MV power system models using ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, CDEGS, or equivalent tools.
* Conduct advanced power system studies including load flow analysis, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination and selectivity studies, motor starting analysis, transient stability studies, harmonic analysis & power quality assessment, arc-flash hazard assessment, and grounding/resistivity studies.
* Ensure modelling assumptions, data inputs, and results are consistent with design documents and manufacturer data.
Requirements:
* Expertise in MV systems, including design, engineering, and commissioning.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in coordinating technical design with onsite installation.
* Ability to develop and manage MV system designs and engineering activities across various projects and geographical regions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to liaise with design teams, supply chain, and clients.
* Experience in compiling and issuing electrical technical submittals, managing submittals through the approvals process, and tracking procurement and delivery of electrical equipment.
* Proficiency in using ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, CDEGS, or equivalent tools for MV power system modeling.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to conduct advanced power system studies.
