Senior Change Lead (E2025170)
We are the people behind Ireland's electricity grid. There is an unprecedented level of change and opportunity in the energy industry. Our Purpose is to Transform the Power System for Future Generations and our primary goal is to Lead the Island's Electricity Sector on Sustainability and Decarbonisation. We are at a significant stage in our power system transformation and our future has never looked more exciting. This is an incredible opportunity to be part of it.
This opportunity sits within the Chief Transformation and Technology Office (CTTO). The role of this directorate is to vision, lead, transform, digitise, deliver and support our transformation programme. Ultimately, we work to deliver the power system and market to 2030 and beyond, maximising the integration of renewables in a sustainable way.
We must deliver this transformation at an affordable cost, taking on board the voices of all aspects of our society. CTTO works across innovation & Planning, Technology Services and Strategic Programme Delivery to ideate, design and deliver change, while maintaining and improving the crucial technology that enables it all.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Change Lead to join our growing team and support with the delivery of our strategic programmes. This person must be a first-class communicator, with high levels of initiative, professionalism and drive to support the work we do in strategic programme delivery, working side-by-side with our internal partners to enable and drive change with key external stakeholders.
Our internal and external stakeholders present numerous and diverse challenges and perspectives. This job requires careful navigation of stakeholder needs and views. It demands flexibility in how we approach each stakeholder situation in order to cultivate professional partnerships which advance EirGrid's goals while bringing key stakeholders on the journey of change.
Our external stakeholders are important to Ireland from many aspects including the achievement of our renewable targets, the continuation of sustainable economic growth, supporting security of supply and the transition of the Irish power system. These include industry leaders and subject matter experts from across the energy industry, including generators, large energy users, new technology and storage operators and many more besides. On the internal side, we work with colleagues from across the whole company who may benefit from, be impacted by or are dependent on the work we do.
There are currently several key projects which will be the focus of engagement including but not limited to:
* Scheduling and Dispatch: This project is developing changes to our core market and operational systems to deliver on changes associated with the treatment of non-priority dispatch renewables defined in the Clean Energy Package, making improvements on wind dispatch, and updates to scheduling and dispatch process to incorporate new energy storage solutions, low carbon sources of inertia, and the provision of reserves and systems services from new technologies.
* Future System Service Arrangements: This project is developing new arrangements for the procurement of innovative System Services which will be vital in facilitating operational change which will allow the power system to be operated with increasingly high levels of low carbon technologies and in achieving our 2030 renewables targets.
Due to the unique nature of the all-island electricity market our team are solving challenges before they are experienced elsewhere in the world. This is therefore a unique opportunity to work alongside world leading experts and play a key role in our transition to a secure and low carbon energy future.
