This is a senior role for a Solutions Architect in a thriving Irish financial services firm based in North Dublin. The company is expanding and looking for an experienced professional to create and maintain the architecture and processes for governance, risk, and compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
* Support the development and enhancement of IT strategy, governance, and architecture.
* Design target states for technology architecture and operating models as needed.
* Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software/hardware and design both standard and custom software configurations.
* Define and drive best practices in a hybrid infrastructure environment.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and ensure improvement initiatives are documented and actioned.
* Promote collaboration and engagement across the team.
* Create deliverables, including architecture diagrams and descriptions, solution blueprints, and high- and low-level solution designs for secure, scalable, and reliable solution architectures.
* Understand end-to-end business and technical requirements, determining corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements.
* Work in a highly collaborative manner with cross-functional teams on projects, providing support to ensure alignment with the overall target enterprise architecture and target integration architecture.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, along with an architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF, IASA, or relevant cloud certifications). They should have at least 7 years of experience in operational topics, with at least 3 years as an architect/technical lead in a regulated entity (experience in the insurance industry or another regulated sector is an advantage).
Key skills include hands-on experience designing solutions for hybrid environments, particularly with on-premise private cloud solutions. Experience working with M365 and Microsoft Azure, including PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS technologies, is strongly preferred. Additionally, the candidate should have strong experience in architecture governance, compliance, and risk management processes.
Solid knowledge of architectural patterns, IT standards, and IT controls (including IT risk management) is required. Experience using one or more architecture tools for design is also necessary. Proven ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, is essential.
