Waterford Leader Partnership CLG wishes to recruit aPart-time Administratorfor the Social Farming Ireland NetworkSocial Farming is an outcome focused, support placement for people on a farm or with a grower using the natural assets of the people, the place, the activities and the community to support a person to achieve some of their own chosen goals. Social Farming is the practice of offering activity on family farms as a form of social support service and these supports are available and accessible to a range of people in that area including those with disabilities, those in recovery from mental ill health, people who are long term unemployed, refugees & asylum seekers, young people at risk, older people and others. In Social Farming the farm remains a working farm at its core but invites people to participate in the normal day to day activities of the farm. The Social Farming Ireland Office was opened in April 2015 by Leitrim Integrated Development Company CLG with the assistance of the Department of Agriculture Food & the Marine and the CEDRA Fund. Waterford Leader Partnership (WLP) delivers the South East regional hub of this national network. You will be required to support the Regional Coordinator to maintain and develop in a structured manner the Social Farming Ireland Network (SoFI) in the South East Region (Waterford, Wexford Carlow Kilkenny South Tipperary and East Cork) among the many stakeholder groups, which include the farmers and growers in the region, the groups of potential participants, providers, agencies and advocates particularly in the Intellectual Disability, and the Mental Health Sector.The work requires someone with commitment to inclusion and a good understanding of Social inclusion, Health and Social Care Provision (Social Farming), Rural Development and the issues pertaining to both the service users/project participants and farming families.Social Farming Administrator (Part-time) – key responsibilities· Work closely with the Regional Coordinator and staff of Waterford Leader Partnership to deliver on their contract as the regional hub of the national Social Farming network.· Work closely with the national office in Leitrim Development Company in the implementation of the required systems.· Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders including farmer and service providers.· Administer farmer and placement files to ensure that they remain updated on Salesforce.· Assist the Regional Coordinator with invoicing for Social Farming placements.· Assist the Regional Coordinator to plan/organise regional network events (workshops, meetings, seminars and study visits) associated with the development work in all counties of the region.· Understand, be aware of and comply with all issues regarding safeguarding and health and safety for farmers and social farming participants.· Attend any compulsory training organised by the WLP and Social farming Ireland team and participate in other training events or courses relevant to your role.· Any other duties as designated by WLP and the Regional Coordinator· Compiling Social Media posts and case studies· Attend and take minutes at relevant meetings· Liaise with farmers to ensure farm complianceThe successful candidate will be:Well organised and results drivenNon-judgemental, empathetic and have a person-centred approach.Experienced in supporting people who are excluded, who have a disability or mental ill health or other challenges and/ or supporting the farming community.Skills:Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to establish trusting relationships with people and all stakeholder groups.Excellent organisational skills.Strong administrative skills, finance, I.T., CRM databases, recording and reporting, and attention to detail.Teamwork; be a positive contributor to small dynamic ambitious national team who deliver the Social Farming Network (SoFI) and provide support across all sectors of the practice.Requirements:Relevant experience of working in health & social care / rural & community development / social inclusion.An applicable qualification in health & social care / rural & community development / social inclusion.A strong understanding of and commitment to inclusion and equality.Experience in an admin role preferableLocation: Position will be based in the company's office in Lismore Co Waterford.Hours per week: 15 hours /week which can be divided over two days or four mornings. Working week Monday to Friday.Duration: A fixed term contract for minimum of a 10-month period, which will be renewed subject to funding and completion of satisfactory probation period.Remuneration: €14.49 per hour, 15-hour weekShortlisting may apply.
