We are currently seeking a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Primary Care Service on a 0.8 WTE basis (4 days per week).
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a senior role in a supportive, dynamic team environment.
Job Purpose In this role, you will provide client-centred Speech and Language Therapy services to adult clients with acquired conditions, delivering care across both clinic and domiciliary settings.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support communication, safe swallowing, and optimal quality of life for adults in the community.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialist assessment and intervention for adults with acquired communication disorders and dysphagia.
Provide therapy in both clinic and home settings, adapting approaches to meet client needs.
Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans using clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues including Physiotherapists, OTs, Public Health Nurses, GPs, and Social Workers.
Provide advice and training to families and caregivers to support therapy goals and reduce swallowing risks.
Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical records in line with HSE standards.
Participate in service planning, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
Engage in supervision, team meetings, and CPD to continually grow your expertise.
Requirements: A recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy approved by CORU.
Current CORU registration (essential).
Min 3 years post-qualification experience Relevant post-qualification experience in adult caseloads including dysphagia management (essential).
Postgraduate qualification or certified training in Dysphagia (essential).
Clinical confidence in conducting swallow assessments and managing acquired communication disorders.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a Primary Care team.
Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential).
