Building Energy Data Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Building Energy Data Engineer to join our team in developing and implementing innovative solutions for building energy performance assessment. As a key member of our Technical Department, you will play a crucial role in delivering the Minimum Energy Performance standards (MEPs) in the EPBD recast by May 2026.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, energy modelling, and project management. You will be responsible for managing research and analysis projects to inform the design, delivery of MEPs in the EPBD recast. This will involve leading approaches to streamline and improve the quality and efficiency of the BER framework through extensive data processing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop new BER coordination operational and management dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
* Support the delivery of calculation methodologies, BER Certificates and Advisory Reports, Building Digital Logbooks, Buildings databases and data exchange, Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB) and Zero Emission Buildings (ZEB) in the EPBD recast.
* Develop and maintain strong business relationships and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
* A degree in a relevant technical or operational discipline such as Architecture, Mechanical or Civil engineering, Building Services, Data Analytics, Data science/engineering or other fields relevant to building energy modelling, methodologies and data.
* A minimum of four years directly relevant experience working in building performance assessment or modelling or in sustainability / energy consultancy or four years directly relevant experience working in data analytics or data engineering.
* Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R for data processing.
* Certification in Microsoft Azure or Power BI.
* Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
