Orange Recruitment are recruiting for a dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to join our partner organisation in infrastructure delivery. This individual will play a vital role in safeguarding all stages of project work from design and delivery through to handover and operations. You will help ensure that safety considerations are embedded at every stage, drive accountability, and champion continuous improvement. Responsibilities Carry out pre-handover inspections on projects nearing completion; identify any potential health & safety issues to be resolved before transfer to operations. Take part in design review workshops; ensure that HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality & Environment) requirements are integrated into designs via engineering consultants and regional leads. Serve as Incident Liaison Officer for accidents/incidents; lead reviews, extract lessons learned, and share insights across the organisation. Attend project kick-off meetings representing HSQE standards; advise project teams on safety expectations and provide ongoing support. Produce quarterly safety communications (incident summaries, alerts, newsletter content) for contractors, local authority labour crews and relevant stakeholders. Mentor key influencers within the organisation to foster safety-conscious behaviour and promote a proactive safety culture. Perform audits and inspections of contractors, suppliers, local authority works and internal facilities; report findings and monitor corrective and preventative actions. Review HSQE competency assessments for contractors and local authority partners to ensure standards are met. Support and accompany external inspectors where needed to ensure consistent HSQE inspection outcomes across the region. Help roll out and provide training on safety management systems (e.g., SiMS or equivalent) to key users. Ensure regional processes and workflows align with current HSQE legislation and policy. Track and analyse regional safety incident data; work with regional managers to develop action plans, share "lessons learnt," and identify opportunities for improvement. Offer specialist HSQE advice to internal teams and contractors; support other business units on safety matters as required. Contribute to the asset delivery safety strategy. Commit to other duties as needed to support safety goals and compliance. Requirements: Third-level qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a similar discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience. Solid experience in HSQE / Health & Safety roles, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, construction or a closely related sector. Capability to conduct inspections, audits, incident investigations. Strong communication skills ability to liaise with engineering teams, contractors, local authorities, and senior management. Capacity to coach, mentor, influence safety culture. Good analytical skills: able to identify trends in incident / safety data and turn these into meaningful improvement plans. Understanding of relevant Irish HSQE legislation, standards and best practice. Full driving licence; willingness to travel across the region for site visits.
