Job Description:
We are currently seeking a professional and experienced HGV Driver to join our team at Costello Auto Trans. As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of service and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport Goods Safely and Efficiently: Operate HGVs (Heavy Goods Vehicles) to deliver goods to various locations across Ireland and sometimes beyond.
Adhere to Transport Regulations: Follow all road safety laws, transport regulations, and company policies.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the truck is in good working condition and report any defects or issues to the maintenance team.
Timely Deliveries: Ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Documentation: Complete relevant paperwork for each delivery, including delivery notes, logs, and receipts.
Health & Safety: Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring safe loading and unloading of goods.
Customer Service: Provide a professional and courteous service to clients, representing the company in a positive light.
Key Requirements:
Valid HGV License: Must have a full, clean HGV license (Class C or higher).
Experience: Proven experience in HGV driving with a solid understanding of the rules and regulations governing commercial driving.
Good Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with the team and clients.
Reliability & Punctuality: Must be dependable and able to meet delivery deadlines.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading vehicles when required.
Knowledge of Route Planning: Familiarity with regional and national routes and an ability to use GPS or other navigation tools.
