DESCRIPTION The AWS Global Connectivity and Network Availability (GCNA) Organization is seeking a System Development Engineer to join our Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) team.
This role involves partnering with our Infrastructure organization on configuration standards and tools, collaborating with Systems and Software Engineers to ensure efficient rollout of new designs and products, and deploying and maintaining networking software tools.
AWS GCNA manages the internet traffic infrastructure that connects the global AWS network, ensuring users can access their data and applications worldwide.
The team designs and builds complex backbone networks for efficient data flow between data centers and customers.

Key job responsibilitiesCreate and implement automation changes on the network.Lead network projects related to sustaining engineering, implementation, scaling, and optimization.Support AWS's next-generation networks for major customers by providing critical support during large-scale events.Develop automation for routing, interconnectivity, platform performance, and configuration issues, including low-level application interactions and networking software tools.Drive innovation from Top of Rack to Network Border.Partner with network and infrastructure teams on standards and tools.Work closely with engineering teams for smooth rollout and deployment of new designs and software tools.Maintain standards and ensure compliance across networking tools.Create sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes.Collaborate with escalation engineers and resolve complex issues.Document processes, issues, and solutions for knowledge sharing.A day in the lifeAt AWS Infrastructure Services, we design, operate, and support global infrastructure, ensuring continuous cloud availability.
