SUMMARY OF ROLEWork as part of a team receiving and registering samples onto LIMS system for busy laboratory departments. Liaising with customers and laboratory management to ensure any queries are addressed promptly. This role would suit someone with either science or IT background or experience of technical administration or customer service.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReceive and check samples against customer submission recordsRegister samples using LIMS system ensuring all samples are correctly registered with all relevant sample details accurately recordedPrepare records and labels for transfer with samples to the relevant laboratory departmentUsing appropriate manual handling practices, assist with transfer of samples to laboratory areasProactively work to ensure samples are transferred to laboratory departments with minimum delayProvide excellent customer service by promptly addressing any queries with/for customersCommunicate directly and promptly with van drivers to ensure samples are delivered on time to the laboratory and to ensure any relevant customer instructions are communicated to the relevant van driverAssist with preparation of samples for shipment to partner subcontractor laboratoriesAssist with processing, preparation and shipping of consumable orders to customersPerform various duties including daily checks, calibrations, recordkeeping as required by QMSAssist with maintenance of laboratory equipment as directedEnsure laboratory records are completed correctly and promptly to ensure adequate traceabilityAssist other colleagues as requiredTo abide by all company policies and proceduresTo work in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and Health and Safety guidelinesTo inform Line Manager of any apparent problems/doubts while undertaking work delegatedTo record and manage all data accurately and in the specified format (i.e., written and/or electronically)To ensure all records are fully completed, legible and stored appropriately for traceabilityTo ensure your Training Record is current and reflective of training completedTo participate in investigations of Complaints and Non-Conforming Work as requiredTo participate in both Internal and External Audits as requiredTo ensure the appropriate PPE is used at all times whilst carrying out tasks as requiredTo ensure proper management of stock / consumables required for completion of workTo ensure that your designated work area is kept clean and tidy at all timesQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEMinimum of Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) ideally with Science subjectFluent in English and confident with record keepingGood organisational, IT and keyboard skills with ability to plan and manage own workloadAble to work alone and within a team.Flexible and adaptive to changes in business requirementsWillingness to learn and developTask focussed working under agreed deadlines, technically minded with good attention to detailMETHOD OF APPLICATION:Candidates meeting specified criteria are asked to please submit CV and covering letter to quoting reference SS04#1225 and to include your current salary, notice period and availability for interview.We look forward to receiving your application.Job Type: Full-timePay: €1.00-€29,500.00 per yearBenefits:On-site parkingAbility to commute/relocate:Carlow, CO.
