Job Description:
The Production Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a milk processing site. This involves ensuring that products are manufactured to the highest standards in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the Production Shift Manager in ensuring the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost-effective, and efficient manner.
2. Utilize and harness the production and maintenance teams' capability through effective leadership, processes consistently applied, and accurately measured against business objectives.
3. Manage production operatives on the shift rotation, identifying and implementing process improvements in conjunction with key stakeholders.
4. Ensure strict adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
5. Maintain and drive quality standards in process, people, and product.
6. Plan capacity for existing and future products, identifying and implementing Lean initiatives.
7. Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement by reporting and communicating effectively with senior management team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in a production role in a food processing environment is highly advantageous. A food science or process engineering qualification is desirable. Key skills required include excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and high standards of systems compliance.
