Claims Leadership Opportunity
This exciting opportunity presents a chance to lead the claims function and drive excellence in claims management. As the Head of Claims, you will be responsible for overseeing all claims operations, ensuring effective and efficient management of claims processes while upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Functional leadership: Oversee claims process and performance, ensuring quality service to members and cost-effectiveness.
* Monitor threats, risks, and opportunities across claims functions, driving continuous improvement.
* Liaise with group business sectors and enabling functions, assisting in development and implementation of claims functional guidelines and procedures.
Governance
* Serve as member of NSEU Executive Committee, Claims Leadership Team, Claims Procedures and Rules Committee, Group Reserving Committee, Claims Management Forum, and P&I Specialty meetings.
Data Analysis
* Direct and review comprehensive analysis of claims data to ensure alignment with company and group claims strategy and objectives.
Reporting
* Provide comprehensive claims reports to Managing Director and Board of NorthStandard EU, enabling them to assess performance and development of claims function.
* Work with and report to group Chief Claims Officer in accordance with claims procedures.
Relationship Management
* Foster strong relationships with members and brokers, effectively communicating company product offerings and value propositions.
* Support marketing initiatives, collaborating with internal stakeholders to promote offerings and develop new business.
Operational Development
* Develop claims and claims support operations and resources for the company.
Skills and Qualifications
* Law degree or Legal Practice Course postgraduate legal qualification (or equivalent), 5 years PQE preferred.
* Demonstrable competence and experience in mutual P&I or wider maritime industry, adherence to applicable conduct standards required.
* Knowledge and understanding of P&I, FD&D, and specialty claims, company insurance products, strategy, policies, procedures, and resources.
