Overview

Support Worker role at Trinity Care (IRL)

Riverview Community Living provides care for adults with intellectual disabilities, mental health needs, or complex needs in a warm, homely environment where residents can thrive. We are looking for Support Workers who are passionate about compassionate, person-centred care and helping others lead meaningful lives for our residents.


Responsibilities

* Facilitate a person-centred approach to support each person to live as independently as possible
* Provide motivation, support and guidance in activities of daily living as outlined in each person’s Care Plan
* Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
* Administer medications in accordance with policy and procedures
* Log and document all care provided on the Health Care Management System (EPIC)
* Act as Keyworker to provide a high standard of care when requested
* Contribute to the development and implementation of individual Person-Centred Plans
* Respect residents’ customs, values and spiritual beliefs and support their right to worship
* Help residents develop and maintain community contacts and relationships with family and friends
* Support residents to cope with varying levels of ability to achieve independence and maintain personal care skills
* Assist with domestic care and social activities
* Support physical and intimate care needs (e.g., self-care, meals, clothing)
* Support residents with finances, including access to bank and logging receipts
* Accompany residents on annual holidays when required, allocated fairly and in consultation with staff
* Work flexibly to meet individual needs and promote links with community facilities
* Maintain positive relationships with all individuals involved in residents’ welfare and promote collaboration
* Contribute to the efficient running of the house with sound decisions based on available information


Qualifications

* Experience in a residential care setting, ideally in a senior or team leader role
* Health or Social Care qualification (e.g., QQI Level 5 in Social Care or Healthcare, including Intellectual module)
* Full clean driver’s license and willingness to drive company vehicles
* Knowledge and understanding of scope of practice for social and healthcare professionals
* Excellent communication skills
* Patience, empathy, and motivation to help others reach their potential
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
