Job Title: Health Care Assistant - Intellectual Disabilities (Full-Time)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in South Limerick. This role is focused on supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting independence and enhancing quality of life in a person-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities
2. Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, mobility, nutrition, and hygiene
3. Encourage and facilitate community integration, leisure activities, and social engagement
4. Implement individual care plans and follow behaviour support strategies
5. Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews
6. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of care
Essential Requirements:
7. Full QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support (or equivalent)
8. Proven experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
9. Full clean driving licence and access to own transport (essential for community-based support)
10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
12. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
Desirable:
13. MAPA or PMAV training (or similar)
14. Experience with challenging behaviours or complex care needs
