Role PurposeThis CFO position sits within a regulated captive insurance business and provides full oversight of financial control, reporting, governance, and regulatory compliance. The role supports senior management and the Board by ensuring strong financial discipline and full adherence to regulatory standards.Core Responsibilities:Financial Control and Reporting• Manage banking relationships and oversee all payment activity• Maintain the general ledger in Sage and determine accounting entries at each reporting date• Post quarterly journals and prepare trial balances• Lead the preparation and review of quarterly management accounts• Prepare annual financial statements• Manage the external audit process and support internal audit activity• Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts• Produce accounting records for group consolidation and reconcile intercompany balancesRegulatory and Compliance• File VAT returns• Coordinate monthly payroll with an external provider• Work with tax advisors on accurate and timely Corporation Tax filings• Support actuaries with SCR calculations, ORSA figures, QRTs, and related reporting• Manage the full QRT process• Assist in preparing SFCR, RSR, and other regulatory submissions• Monitor solvency against MCR• Support the annual review of governance and operations manuals• Provide the Central Bank with reports and information as requiredBoard and Investment Committee Support• Prepare finance updates and materials for board meetings• Coordinate Investment Committee meetings, prepare supporting material, manage follow ups• Set up collateral arrangements when neededLeadership and Oversight• Advise senior management on financial, operational, and control matters• Ensure high standards of financial governance within a captive insurance structure• Perform duties assigned under the company's governance frameworkExperience Required• Senior finance leadership experience within captive insurance or reinsurance• Strong understanding of regulatory reporting and financial governance in a captive environment• Experience working with actuarial teams, auditors, and tax advisors• Ability to operate independently with a high level of accuracy
