As our organisation is expanding and developing, we have identified the need for a new role, of Quantity Surveyor with a view to progressing to a Senior Management position, in due course.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Documentation Management: Tender Management & Documentation for major contracts.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work alongside our project managers, estimators and other key stakeholders as an integral part of the team.
* Tendering and Contracts: Review and advise on Tender and Contract/Sub-contract documentation.
* Budget Management: Setting budgets for major contracts and forecasting cash flow for significant contracts.
* Procurement Support: Working with the supply chain team to manage procurement of contract and key materials
* Cost Control: Ensure that any deviations from the budget are identified, investigated, and reported with corrective actions recommended. Keep track of pricing variations.
* Progress Reports: Provide regular reports on project progress, including cost breakdowns and any changes to scope or budget.
* Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and uncertainties, developing strategies to mitigate potential cost impacts.
* Budget Management: Monthly Group Cash Target/Management and monthly Cost Reporting / Cost Value Comparison.
* Post-Project Analysis: Review project costs upon completion and provide insights for future cost estimation and planning.
The above is a non-exhaustive summary of responsibilities that the Quantity Surveyor will be expected to fulfil.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
* The successful candidate will have a third level qualification in construction/quantity surveying.
* 5 to 7 years' experience in the Construction industry.
* Membership of a Professional Institute such as CIOB/RICS is preferred, but not essential.
* Working knowledge of most standard forms of construction contracts and Sub-contracts.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* Be IT savvy and be proficient with common software, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
