Job Summary
We are seeking Apprentice Manufacturing Technicians to support production of contact lenses at our Limerick, Ireland facility.
The role involves monitoring equipment, inspecting materials, gathering data, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, adhering to health & safety protocols, and collaborating across functions.
Responsibilities
Support operation and monitoring of processing equipment, including injection molding and extrusion machines, to ensure efficient production of contact lenses.
Conduct regular inspections on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Gather and record data related to production volumes, process parameters, and quality metrics to assist in continuous improvement analysis.
Participate in routine maintenance tasks, helping to keep machinery and equipment in good working condition.
Work alongside experienced technicians to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve production line issues promptly.
Follow all health and safety protocols and use personal protective equipment in a safe working environment.
Collaborate with engineers, production operators, and quality assurance personnel to ensure smooth operations on the production floor.
Engage in on-the-job training programs to learn about materials, processing techniques, and industry standards related to medical device manufacturing.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing process enhancements and efficiency measures.
Qualifications
Leaving Certificate minimum of 250 points, including a Grade06 at Ordinary level in five subjects (including Math and a language).
A positive demeanor and hard-working ethos.
Practical experience is desirable but not required.
