Job Title: Senior EHS Advisor
The primary role of the Senior EHS Advisor is to champion the company's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) strategy by embedding robust systems, policies, and procedures across the project lifecycle. This position involves acting as a key advisor to project teams, management, and subcontractors on all health, safety, and environmental matters.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
* Embedding EHS Strategy: Champion the company's EHS strategy by developing and implementing effective systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant statutory regulations, industry standards, and internal governance frameworks.
* EHS Advisory Services: Provide expert guidance to project teams, management, and subcontractors on all EHS matters, including risk assessments, method statements, permits to work, and SPAs.
* Site Audits and Inspections: Conduct scheduled site audits and safety inspections to identify areas for improvement, generate actionable reports, and ensure timely resolution of any findings.
* Incident Reporting and Investigations: Manage incident reporting and investigations, ensuring root cause analysis, escalation to relevant stakeholders, and communication of lessons learned.
* EHS Documentation and Registers: Maintain and manage all EHS-related registers, records, and documentation; produce detailed reports and present findings to senior management when required.
* Safety Interventions and Training: Drive the proactive completion and documentation of safety interventions, promoting a preventative safety culture. Lead the delivery of site-specific safety training, including onboarding inductions for new employees and subcontractor personnel.
* Client Handover: Compile final safety file documentation for client handover at project completion.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* EHS Expertise: Proven experience in EHS management, including developing and implementing EHS strategies, policies, and procedures.
* Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to advise and guide project teams, management, and subcontractors.
* Risk Assessment and Methodology: Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and the ability to develop and implement effective risk management plans.
* Audit and Inspection: Experience in conducting site audits and safety inspections, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and generate actionable reports.
* Investigation and Analysis: Proven ability to investigate incidents and conduct root cause analyses, with the ability to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
* Documentation and Reporting: Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed EHS-related records and reports.
