Our client are recruiting for a Part-Qualified Accountant / Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team. This position is located in Tullamore Co Offaly.
The Role
This is a hands-on and varied role ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic finance professional looking to develop their career. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of financial functions, contributing directly to the efficient operation of the Finance Department and supporting the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily banking transactions, bank reconciliations, and supplier payments
Maintain accurate accounting records using Sage 50 (or similar)
Manage Debtors and Creditors ledgers
Prepare and issue customer invoices; record and allocate payments
Monitor overdue accounts and support credit control processes
Reconcile Purchase Orders with Supplier Invoices and identify discrepancies
Allocate costs accurately across departments
Conduct monthly supplier and intercompany reconciliations
Post and review company credit card transactions
Assist in preparing monthly management reports and reconciliations
Support payroll processing and Revenue filings (PAYE, VAT, RCT)
Assist with audit preparation and year-end accounts
Contribute to marketing efforts, including monthly mail merges to potential suppliers
Update lead databases and assist in social media and brand awareness initiatives
Support the development of internal policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all company policies
Perform general administrative and ad hoc finance duties as required
Requirements
BBS/BA in Business, Accounting, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Finance Department
Proficient in Sage 50 and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach
Full clean driving licence
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Willingness to take initiative and continuously learn
