Essential qualifications:
QQI Level 7/8 in Social Care, or equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction
QQI Level 8 in Psychology
QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Counselling / Psychotherapy
QQI Level 7 or Professional Practice Qualification in Addiction Counselling
QQI Level 7 in Youth and Community or similar
QQI Level 7 in Social Science / Social Studies
QQI Level 7 in Family Support
Professional Qualification in Teaching (Not TEFL)
Professional Qualification in Nursing Studies
QQI Level 7 in Disability Studies
QQI Level 7 in Applied Behavioural Analysis
QQI Level 7 in Early Years Care where centre caters for children under 12 years.
BA in Applied Policing or equivalent
Holder of Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service) or equivalent
2 Years Post Qualification Experience working in the Social Care Field
Desirable experience:
Experience working with vulnerable young people.
Experience working within a residential & team environment.
Experience working with youths and families in the community
Established in ****, Compass Child and Family Services (CLG) is a Charity offering out of home care arrangements for children in the care of the Irish State.
Our philosophy of working with children and their families is guided by the principles of Social Pedagogy.
The main object for which the Company is established is:
Compass CFS works with families and its individual members to support and encourage the effective functioning of families living in Ireland.
Compass CFS provides residential medium to long term care for children and young people in the care of the Irish State.
The fostering and promotion of aid to children, young people and their families in accordance with the Child Care Act, **** and Children's Act, ****.
Compass CFS provides Aftercare services and supports for young persons over 18 years old who have been cared for by the Irish State.
All our services and how we engage in our work is guided by Social Pedagogical Principles.
Social Pedagogy is based on humanistic values stressing human dignity, mutual respect, trust, unconditional appreciation and equality.
It is underpinned by a fundamental concept of children, young people and adults as equal human beings with rich and extraordinary potential and considers them competent, resourceful and active agents.
Compass CFS invests surplus reserves in developing new services in line with the constitution and objectives of the charity.
This includes but not limited to projects that do not make money, the promotion of social work and social pedagogy in Ireland, and supporting other charitable funds, associations and institutions calculated to promote or assist the main objectives of the Compass CFS constitution.
