Equipment Engineer (Contract)
Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, is hiring an Equipment Engineer for a 12‑month contractor role. The position is hybrid, with three days onsite each week.
Responsibilities
Deliver multiple automation‑related projects, primarily the virtualization of servers associated with live production equipment, coordinated within defined shutdown windows.
Manage multiple teams, including global and local ITS teams, automation, validation, and production groups, as well as external contractors.
Collaborate with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to upgrade control systems.
Provide automation support and expertise in the procurement, build, commissioning, and qualification of GMP equipment.
Work collaboratively on several phased project deployments.
Oversee the packaging, serialization, and aggregation biopharmaceutical equipment project portfolio across operations such as enzymes, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), oral dosage, medical devices, laboratories, and packaging.
Handle procurement and acceptance of equipment and associated infrastructure on behalf of Sanofi and report regularly on project status throughout the lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety codes, approved project KPIs, performance standards, and specifications.
Engage with external and internal customers, suppliers, and vendors to define and deliver projects on the first attempt.
Chair team interactions to interpret requirements and secure approvals that align project scope.
Review engineering deliverables, initiate site change controls, and prepare necessary documentation per the project life cycle.
Deliver performance metrics for budget, schedule, scope, and quality adherence.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or equivalent Engineering discipline.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a project management role.
Detailed knowledge of cGMP pharmaceutical environments with strong automation experience.
Exemplary communication skills, dedication, and a focus on delivering success within the role.
