Role Overview
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the full financial management of the business, reporting directly to senior leadership. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decisions, ensuring compliance, driving efficiency, and supporting continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial operations including month‑end, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting
Produce and present timely and accurate management accounts
Manage financial audits and ensure full compliance with statutory and tax requirements
Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and credit control
Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures
Develop performance dashboards and KPIs for key departments
Liaise with external advisors, banks, and auditors as required
Provide strategic financial input to support business planning and expansionSupport the roll‑out of financial systems or ERP improvements
Manage and mentor a small finance team (if applicable)
Candidate Requirements
Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent preferred)
5+ years’ experience in a senior finance role, ideally with experience as a Financial Controller
Experience in construction, energy, renewables, or related sectors would be a plus but is not required
Strong understanding of Irish tax and financial regulations
Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (Sage, Xero, or ERP systems)
High level of accuracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams
Proactive mindset, with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes
Based within commuting distance of Midleton, Cork (hybrid role after 3‑month office onboarding period)
