The business operates diagnostic imaging and minor injuries centres' around the country, offering a broad range of cutting-edge imaging technology and healthcare services to the public, insurers, employers and other organisations.
Our Dublin teams are growing and we are now looking for a skilled MRI Radiographer to join us. The MRI Radiographer is responsible for the independent operation of MRI equipment and the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This role involves performing a wide range of routine and complex MRI examinations, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice and ethical conduct.
Clinical Duties:
* Perform comprehensive MRI examinations, including routine and advanced imaging protocols, using independent clinical judgment to adapt procedures based on patient condition and diagnostic needs.
* Assess patient medical history and clinical indications to determine appropriate scan parameters and ensure optimal image quality.
* Accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings during imaging and escalate concerns as appropriate.
* Ensure all examinations are completed in full, with proper documentation of scan parameters, radiation doses (where applicable), and screening times.
Patient Care :
* Provide compassionate and professional care, ensuring the physical and emotional comfort of patients throughout the imaging process.
* Clearly explain procedures to patients and obtain informed consent prior to examinations.
* Assist in the safe transfer and positioning of patients, including those with limited mobility or requiring additional support.
Operational Responsibilities:
* Manage daily MRI schedules, coordinate with the Clinical Lead and Clinical Service Manager to ensure adequate coverage and workflow efficiency.
* Maintain and update Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and ensure accurate record-keeping of all imaging procedures.
* Monitor and report equipment performance issues, and oversee routine maintenance and quality assurance checks.
* Ensure adequate stock of consumables and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Compliance & Safety :
* Adhere to local radiation safety rules and national guidelines, including justification, optimization (ALARA), and dose limitation principles.
* Use radiation protection devices appropriately and follow departmental protocols for imaging women of reproductive age.
* Accept and perform only those imaging requests that are properly authorized and clinically justified.
Professional Development and Quality Assurance:
* Stay current with advancements in MRI technology, imaging techniques, and clinical best practices.
* Participate in ongoing training, staff development programs, and individual performance reviews.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of imaging services by adhering to quality assurance protocols and reporting any discrepancies in patient care or service delivery.
Additional Duties :
* Provide cross-coverage in other radiology modalities as required.
* Undertake delegated responsibilities from the Clinical Specialist or Clinical Lead in MRI.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall function of the radiology department.

Qualifications:
* BSc in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent recognized qualification.
* Active CORU registration.
Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years post-graduation experience in MRI (5+ years preferred), with demonstrated expertise in both routine and complex scanning procedures.
