Eir evo talent has partnered with an organisation in North Dublin. We are on the lookout for IT Security Officer. This role involves performing detailed technical and procedural reviews, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending appropriate mitigations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with IT, development, and business teams to maintain a robust and secure technology environment aligned with organisational and regulatory requirements. This is a hybrid role, which will require you to work onsite 3 days per week in North of Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
* Review system and solution architecture and design documents, providing expert feedback on security design issues and improvements.
* Conduct technical reviews of IT platforms, including:
* Authentication mechanisms and communication flows
* System hardening, encryption standards, and IP controls
* Build configurations and logging practices
* Segregation of duties and development methodologies
* Perform systems penetration testing and vulnerability assessments across applications, servers, networks, and supporting services.
* Review and enhance User Access Management procedures (joiners, movers, leavers) to ensure appropriate access controls and role-based permissions.
* Evaluate third-party security practices, including support vendors and cloud service providers, to ensure compliance with organisational security policies.
* Communicate findings through detailed reports and presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear risk assessments and actionable recommendations.
*Requirements*
* Strong understanding of information security principles, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
* Experience with penetration testing tools and methodologies.
* Proficiency in network security, application security, and infrastructure hardening.
* Ability to assess access control frameworks and identity management processes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of conveying complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
* Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
