To provide high-quality care, play, and learning opportunities for children in both a preschool environment (ages 2–5) and an afterschool club (ages 4–11). The role involves supporting children's development, ensuring their safety and well-being, and creating a stimulating, inclusive environment that promotes learning through play.
Key Responsibilities
Preschool (Early Years Foundation Stage)
* Support children's early learning in line with the curriculum framework Aistear.
* Plan and deliver fun, engaging activities to support children's development.
* Observe and record progress, contributing to individual learning journeys.
* Support routines including freeplay, snacks and outdoor play.
Afterschool Club (School-age children)
* Provide a safe, welcoming space for children after school.
* Deliver creative, active, and play-based activities suited to a range of ages.
* Support positive behaviour and social interaction.
* Engage with children in free play and structured activities.
General Responsibilities
* Ensure children are always safe and supervised.
* Build positive, professional relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues.
* Follow safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety policies.
* Work flexibly across both settings as required.
Person Specification
Essential
* Enthusiasm and genuine interest in working with children of different ages.
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
* Reliability, flexibility, and good communication skills.
Desirable
* Experience working with children in an early years or school-age setting.
* Level 5 QQI (not essential for school-age work)
Working Hours
* Both full-time and part-time positions available.
* Flexible working, including the option of a four-day week.
* Hours may be split between preschool sessions and afterschool club sessions.

Pay: €15.50-€18.00 per hour
