This position ensures that all areas of the facility are free of obstacles, odors, and debris, contributing to the overall health and comfort of those in our care.
**Essential Duties*** Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
* Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
* Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
* Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
* Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
* Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
* Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
* Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
* Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
* Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
* Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
* Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
* Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently.
* Work independently or as part of a team to meet facility standards.
**Supervisory Requirements**This position has no supervisory requirements.
**Qualification*** High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.
* Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
* Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manualsand directions.Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication andDivision.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form**Physical Demands*** Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching* Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
