Job Description
Transportation is one of Egis's key sectors and a core part of our three global business areas. Transportation in the UK and Ireland is at a pivotal growth stage; we are involved in iconic projects including HS2, MMA, the N/M20 Cork to Limerick route, and the Luas extension. We are seeking a Director to lead our transportation business across the two countries.
Key responsibilities & missions
Drive, shape and define, in collaboration with the global transportation business and Country Managing Directors, the transportation strategy for the UK and Ireland.
Implement the strategy and deliver with accountability for P&L, order intake, pipeline, and meet annual financial and non‑financial targets.
Develop marketing plans, provide technical and commercial leadership, and manage project and staffing requirements and talent.
Participate with select clients and key accounts on current and future business opportunities.
Lead people management to drive a motivated, disciplined and productive workforce; set objectives, drive appraisals and communication.
Establish and maintain effective organisational structure and skill base to meet business needs short and long term.
Demonstrate innovation leadership to enhance sustainable performance.
Maximise financial results of the UK and Ireland transportation business, including order intake, profit and loss, fixed assets, capital expenditure and receivables.
Plan, operate and grow transportation services in UK and Ireland.
Qualifications
Essential
Degree in business management, engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
Proven market leader in UK and Ireland transportation companies with extensive sector experience.
Experience in international design firms, major rail or road projects, and P&L management.
Leadership and proven management ability.
Strategic acumen with experience implementing long‑term vision in fast‑paced environment.
Problem‑solving skills and data‑driven decision making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior managers, employees, stakeholders and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
