Our client is keen to hire a Financial Accountant (Qualified or Part Qualified) on an initial 12month contract to join their team in Sligo.
Responsibilities
* Quarterly Management Accounts: Preparation of accurate and timely quarterly management accounts.
* Statutory and Mandatory Accounts: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory and mandatory financial statements. Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
* Audit: Assist with the annual external audit process, liaising with auditors.
* Cashflows: Develop and maintain cash flow projections to support effective financial planning. Monitor and analyse cash flow trends, identifying areas for improvement.
* Budgets and Projections: Collaborate with various departments to develop annual budgets and financial projections. Monitor budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
* Managing and Maintaining Stock: Oversee the management and maintenance of stock levels, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Implement controls to minimize stock discrepancies and losses.
* VAT Returns: Prepare and submit timely and accurate VAT, Vies, Intrastat and RTD returns. Stay updated on VAT regulations and advise on compliance matters.
* SAGE Transition: assist with the transition to SAGE accounting software, ensuring a smooth integration. Train and support team members on the use of SAGE for accounting functions.
* Liaise with Revenue, Banks and Third Parties as required
Requirements
* Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
* Ideally, 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
* Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
* Proficient in using accounting software, particularly SAGE.
