Role Overview
We are currently seeking Java Spring Developersat Senior, Intermediate, and Junior levelsto join a high-profile, long-term engagement within a Tier-1 consulting environmentin Ireland.
The successful candidates will work on mission-critical enterprise systems, delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance applications, with a strong focus on Irish public sector and regulatory-driven platforms.
Experience working with or for the Revenue Commissionersor similar government bodies will be considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities (All Levels)
1. Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applicationsusing Spring / Spring Boot
2. Build and consume RESTful APIsand backend services
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders
4. Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
5. Ensure adherence to security, performance, and compliance standards
6. Contribute to agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Senior-Level Additional Responsibilities
1. Lead technical design and architecture discussions
2. Mentor junior and intermediate developers
3. Drive best practices in code quality, scalability, and performance
4. Act as a technical point of contact for stakeholders and clients
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
1. Strong hands-on experience with Java (8+)
2. Solid expertise in Spring Framework / Spring Boot
3. Experience with REST APIs, Microservices, and MVC architecture
4. Strong knowledge of SQL / relational databases(Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
5. Experience with JUnit, Mockito, and automated testing
6. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle
7. Exposure to cloud platforms(AWS / Azure / GCP) is desirable
Experience Level
1. Senior:7+ years of Java/Spring development experience
2. Intermediate:4–6 years of relevant experience
3. Junior:2–4 years of hands-on Java/Spring experience
Mandatory Requirements
1. Proven Irish market experience(must have worked on projects in Ireland)
2. Valid Irish work visa / Stamp(Stamp 1, Stamp 4, or EU Passport)
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
4. Background in Tier-1 consulting firmsor large enterprise environments preferred
5. Ability to work effectively with Irish public sector or regulated clients
Desirable / Nice to Have
1. Previous experience working with Revenue Commissionersor Irish government bodies
2. Knowledge of security-driven systems, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
3. Experience in Agile / Scrumenvironments
4. Exposure to DevOps practicesand containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
