We are an established, successful café in Monkstown, Cork. We are ambitious and are seeking someone who wants to grow our kitchen, bring new ideas to the table and be your own boss. If you are passionate about cooking, food and running a café, this is for you.
What you'll be doing:
* Preparation of food and menu creation, baking, pizza making and sandwich prep.
* Maintaining a high standard of quality and cleanliness under HACCP
* Helping to develop and maintain the menu with specials, seasonality and listening to industry and customer trends.
* Tracking and measuring wastage daily and weekly and working to reduce this.
* Ensure that the highest quality standards and profitability are met.
* Managing stock and stock levels so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service.
* Managing all suppliers and costs, getting best quality and value.
* Introduction or changing of processes to build for efficiency that allow for greater stock control and prompt service times.
* Ensuring that exceptional cleaning standards are met in the kitchen. Verify that levels are maintained across the kitchen and floor. Follow the HACCP program in place and complete audits where necessary.
* Training of staff members in the kitchen to provide back up and support.
* Ensuring the regular and systematic cleaning and maintenance of the equipment in the kitchen and front of house.
* Complete kitchen analysis and budgeting in relation to menu offerings.
* Working with all team members, front of house duties / coffee.
Your profile
* You have at least 2 years experience in a professional kitchen or catering environment.
* You are fully qualified with HACCP certificates or equivalent.
* Your ambitious and looking for your next role where you can own your own kitchen.
* You have a passion for sustainability, quality, delighting the customer.
* You enjoy working as part of a team and bringing new ideas to the table and how to make these happen.
* You love an organised kitchen and take pride in your work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €14.00-€15.00 per hour
