Senior Electrical Maintenance EngineerLocation: Dublin City CentreEmployment Type: Full-time, PermanentWorking Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 (39 hours per week)OverviewWe are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated, technology-driven operational environment in Dublin City Centre. This is a senior, hands-on engineering role combining advanced technical expertise with day-to-day leadership of a busy maintenance function.The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Manager, providing technical leadership, deputising where required, and supporting the maintenance team in achieving high equipment availability and operational performance.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Engineering SupportAct as the senior technical authority for complex fault finding across a broad range of automated and production equipment.Provide second-level escalation support for equipment faults and performance issues.Diagnose and resolve technical issues using OEM documentation, supplier support, and structured root cause analysis.Lead investigations into recurring or high-impact faults, developing long-term, sustainable technical solutions.Support performance testing activities and use findings to improve maintenance practices and machine reliability.Maintenance Management & Continuous ImprovementSupport and deputise for the Maintenance Manager as required.Provide higher-level technical guidance to technicians during day operations.Drive preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to optimise equipment performance and availability.Develop, modify, and implement maintenance procedures and productive maintenance methodologies.Identify opportunities for machine and process improvements and ensure implementation is tracked and reported.Team & Stakeholder EngagementWork collaboratively with supervisors, technicians, and operational stakeholders to align maintenance priorities.Communicate clearly with suppliers and external service providers regarding faults, repairs, and technical solutions.Build and maintain strong working relationships with on-site operational teams.Spares, Planning & ReportingFull responsibility for spares management, including stock control, sourcing, purchasing, tracking via CMMS, and invoicing.Support PM scheduling, compliance, and documentation.Ensure accurate, concise, and traceable reporting of investigations, findings, and corrective actions.Assist with shift rota planning, training coordination, holiday cover, and workforce planning.Health, Safety & ComplianceEnsure all activities comply with current health and safety legislation and best practices.Provide guidance and direction to others on safe systems of work.Support ISO quality standards through adherence to documented procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.Candidate RequirementsQualifications & ExperienceLevel 8 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred).Extensive hands-on experience fault finding on automated and high-speed production systems.Experience with high-speed sortation or automated handling equipment is highly advantageous.Strong background in managing complex technical issues in a structured, traceable manner.Technical & Professional SkillsStrong understanding of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control systems.Advanced problem-solving skills, including data analysis and interpretation of performance metrics.Experience developing and qualifying maintenance strategies and procedures.Excellent organisational and planning skills.Leadership & CommunicationProven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor maintenance teams.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.Proactive, adaptable, and customer-focused approach.REFERENCE ID: INDGEN
