He Indirect Tax analyst in the EMEA region will assist the EMEA VAT Manager based in Cork in managing and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations and requirements for businesses operating within these regions. Their main role is to provide support in all aspects of VAT accounting, reporting, and compliance to ensure accurate and timely submission of VAT returns and payments. The Indirect Tax analyst will also provide support in other ad hoc Indirect Tax projects including testing and assist the team with audits and all VAT related queries.
What You'll Do:
Responsibilities:
1. VAT Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with VAT laws, regulations, and reporting requirements in the EMEA region.
2. VAT Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and transactions to identify VAT implications and ensure accurate VAT treatment.
3. VAT Reconciliation: Reconcile VAT accounts and investigate any discrepancies or errors in VAT calculations.
4. VAT Returns: Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns for each country of operation, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines.
5. VAT Documentation: Maintain proper documentation and records related to VAT transactions, invoices, and compliance. Assist in the preparation of VAT compliance process documents and checklists.
6. VAT Research: Stay updated with changes in VAT legislation and regulations in the EMEA region and provide recommendations on their impact.
7. VAT Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of VAT reports, including Intrastat and EC Sales List reports, for submission to tax authorities. Update the VAT compliance Tracker for Internal reporting.
8. VAT Audits: Support VAT audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and assistance to tax authorities.
9. VAT Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in VAT accounting, reporting, and compliance. Work closely with IT to close any gaps, andoptimise our current VAT systems and processes.
10. VAT Support: Provide support to internal and externalstakeholders, such as finance teams and business units, on VAT-related queries and issues.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2. Strong understanding of VAT laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in the EMEA region.
3. Experience in VAT accounting, compliance, or tax-related roles is preferred.
4. Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, other) and Tax engines such as OneSource, Vertex… is a plus.
5. Proficiency in using Microsoft office, particularlyMicrosoft Excel for data analysis.
6. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
7. Excellent problem-solving and research skills.
8. Good communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
