Founded in 1969 and now part of the ABP Food Group, C&D Foods has grown to become one of the industry's leading pet food producers with eight manufacturing sites across Europe supplying quality products to customers around the world.ResponsibilitiesEnsure laboratory operates efficiently in line with G.L.P and is audit ready.Daily chemical testing of raw materials and finished products (Pouches, Alutrays & Cans) as per schedule.Monthly mineral analysis (Calcium, Phosphorous, Sodium) for pouches, alutrays & cans.Species testing on selected MRM materials.Physical testing of intermediate products (Gels/Guars) per batch.Daily testing of effluent and reporting results.Weekly testing of boiler water and reporting results.Sourcing and purchasing of laboratory materials and equipment; maintain adequate stocks at all times.Installation and calibration of new equipment; initial and subsequent calibrations for finished products and raw materials, with reporting and trending findings.Liaising with departmental colleagues on current development projects.Preparation and circulation of analytical reports, trended and analyzed.Trending and reporting of out-of-spec results for both finished product and raw materials.Key CompetenciesExcellent communication skills, able to deal with all levels of the organization.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with document control and quality information systems, with strong emphasis on data interpretation.Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.Highly customer-focused with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.Innovative, willing, and engaged in ongoing training on new processes & operations.Good problem solving & decision-making skills.Attention to detail.Flexibility with willingness to adapt to change.A "Can Do" attitude.
