This role reports directly to the R&D Manager and focuses on project execution, data interpretation, and technical reporting. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Researcher to lead key R&D projects, guide teams, analyse trial data, and collaborate across the business. The role also manages and develops two graduates.
Key Responsibilities
Lead specific R&D projects from planning through to completion, focusing on meat science and beef and lamb eating quality.
Lead and support cross-functional teams, ensuring strong collaboration, clear direction, and delivery of project objectives.
Interpret trial data and conduct statistical analysis related to beef and lamb eating quality outcomes.
Write detailed technical reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Ensure project milestones are met and risks are managed.
Liaise with external research partners and suppliers.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team.
Manage graduates, providing support, coaching, and development opportunities.
Support the manager in aligning project outcomes with operational needs.
Generate innovative ideas and drive technical advancement.
Essential Criteria
Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Food Science, Food Technology, Meat Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in the food industry.
Strong understanding of meat science, especially beef and lamb eating quality.
Willing and able to travel to support trials across ROI, NI, UK, and Poland.
Hands‑on experience working in a factory environment.
Valid driver's licence and passport.
Must be based in ROI or NI.
