Overview
Utilities Maintenance Lead – Veolia Ireland. Location: Grangecastle, Dublin. Duration: Permanent. Hours: 39 hours per week.
The Utilities Area Maintenance Lead is responsible for all aspects of operation and maintenance within the assigned area of responsibility and to ensure all necessary resources are in place to deliver the required services.
Responsibilities
* Day-to-day relationship with the Veolia Site Manager, Client, Shift Lead and Engineering team.
* Maintain and build relationships across the site among the internal Veolia team, Client, Engineering team and sub-contractors.
* Act as key point of contact for escalation of any issues related to plant maintenance.
* Manage and coordinate work activities of a multi-skilled team of technicians and OEM suppliers to ensure maximum uptime of Utilities plant.
* On-time implementation and execution of the agreed PM Program in the area.
* Ensure that maintenance personnel are proficient in maintaining existing and new equipment.
* Operate according to approved MTLs, SOPs/EWIs for site engineering and maintenance.
* Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with GMP requirements.
* Maintain and close out all documentation relevant to the safe/compliant and validated state of the Utilities plant, including logbooks, in a timely manner and return to the relevant point/person where necessary.
* Manage performance of all suppliers in line with company policy and supplier agreement performance criteria.
* Support a culture of high performance for all direct reports in line with company policy and performance criteria.
* Promote teamwork throughout direct reports and the overall team.
* Provide support for all statutory inspections as directed by Client Engineering.
* Contribute technical input to SOP development.
* Perform Operations and Maintenance risk assessment.
* Process consumable top-ups (e.g., salt recharge, gas cylinder change out).
* Ensure spare parts and consumables are available to support maintenance activity and 24/7 plant operation.
* All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines.
* Ensure tooling is available and conduct regular tooling audits.
* Initiate change requests on MTLs, SOPs/EWIs based on feedback from maintenance activity and shift operation.
* Compile weekly and monthly reports on maintenance, calibration and operational activity.
* Maintain an accurate asset register and ensure regular audits.
* Plan and implement maintenance shutdowns according to client and business requirements.
* Assess current asset lifespan and establish potential future investments to mitigate long-term failures.
* Review current maintenance strategies for Utilities and identify gaps to remediate.
* Gain full understanding of core utilities interdependencies and their criticality to GMP systems on site.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum qualification: BSc or MSc/M.Eng in Mechanical/Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
* Marine Engineer qualifications and background.
* Minimum of 3 years cGMP industrial experience, ideally covering Operations, Engineering, Project and Validation within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for a wide range of plant equipment: pumps, HVAC, air compressors, steam boilers and related systems, Domestic Hot Water, Refrigerant Chillers, cooling towers, clean steam, purified water, sterilization systems, low voltage electrical, PLCs, Building Management Systems (Honeywell, Emerson DeltaV), and basic instrumentation.
* Ability to read and interrogate mechanical/instrumentation and process drawings.
* Experience in a project management role with knowledge of equipment design and handover to improve reliability and start-up.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills.
* Strong background in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech sectors.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to document operating procedures.
* Team player with excellent organizational and planning skills.
* Experience in the use of BMS/MCS systems and EAMS/SAP.
* Methodical and analytical approach to work with good initiative and proactive attitude.
