Job Description:Design & Release of Systems & ComponentsInterface with cross functional team to design and develop functional solutions that achieve design requirements & to ensure proper design interfaces with other components, and all requirements are met.Work with other functions Design / Releasing teams to ensure consistency in requirements, standards, and practices across programs.Translate Functional Objectives into technical requirements and solutionsCreate and analyze alternative design conceptsIntegrating system componentsSupport Benchmarking of competitive vehicles.Maintain core Engineering Design Practices (EDP's)Implement innovation roadmaps as well as coordinate the advancement of new technologies and procedures to improve program timing.Define Customer interface requirementsOwn and update Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR), and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) - ensure functional objectives, guidelines and corporate requirements are metHarmonization and quality improvement activitiesCost value analysisDevelop timelines and drive programs to meet deliverables.Responsibilities:Manage Tier I suppliers and software releases and/or hardware designs to meet program timing and deliverables.Interface with stakeholders at all levels including vehicle teams, HMI, validation, requirement leads, technical specialists, leadership, and develop robust functional designs.Present action plans with status/risks to get and keep programs on track.Maintain changes and budget to achieve deliverables for a sound product launches.Follow, track and root cause build issues found during pre-production builds, prior to launch of the program and warranty analysis of all the components after the launch.Concept Design and feasibility studiesSupport resolution & design updates of vehicle packaging, logbook and manufacturing feasibility issuesConduct Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling (Catia / NX) and template set-up & maintenance using Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques.Clearly communicate component status and issues in Google Suite and MS-Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).Early Computer Aided Design (CAD) creation and development prior to supplier award & onboardingGenerate CAD and 2D drawings for components including GD&TBuild detailed harness BOMsIdentify in lines and eyelets that are readily availableWork with Prototype Build Engineering to procure long lead components and coordinate sample requests for component suppliers.Assess and packaging harness designProvide technical interface to the advanced teamWork with designers to develop packaging and resolve issues.Coordinate with designers and support teams to ensure all necessary Teamcenter tasks are completed.Attend design reviews/coordination meetings.Develop and release BDU and related component designs that satisfy vehicle levelDetermine the wiring effect for bulletins and product plan changes and provide electrical build supportProvide program deliverables on time per major development milestonesLead and coordinate Product Development Team (POT) meetings with suppliersCoordinate change management (CCD, CN, A, PER, ICD)Execute standardization plans and reuse of validated subcomponentsProvide build and launch support as neededTrack current production warranty and assist in root cause investigationsDevelop program High Voltage Battery Systems (HVES) concepts that satisfy battery pack and vehicle level functional objectives down to the battery module design levelCoordinate THVBS module packaging activities with advanced concept engineering team and battery pack design teamExecute programs through POP that meet or exceed objectives or performance, cost, weight, investment, and qualityDevelop and publish HVS module performance standardsAuthor and submit source packages on time to support product plansDevelop component and system level OVPs and coordinate component level OVP with tiered suppliersPull and manage part numbersExecute design for manufacturing process and coordinate assembly process with manufacturing engineeringDevelop and execute system integration Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) for HVES modulesDevelop and publish HVBS performance standardsDevelop system level validation plans, end of line test, and continuous conformance test requirements and coordinate with Tier 1 supplier responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation outlining best practices supporting Stellantis internal continuous improvement initiatives and the development of product technology roadmapsPoint of contact for all engine hardware issuesLead initial root cause analysis and support through closureLead Design and Release Engineers (DRE's) in meeting program objectives for their components with respect to cost, weight, performance, quality, manufacturing, timing, etc.Support Change ManagementRequirements:Experience developing Performance Standards, Creating master sections and Surface feasibility proposal for PDOKnowledge of CAN/LIN bus and experience with circuit analysisDesign for Six Sigma DFSS experienced (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), Shainin Green BeltNX and Teamcenter knowledgeAutomotive Interior Product Design components/systems design/development/releasing experienceExperience with Tooling feasibility in Injection molded plastics/Decorative componentsHighly motivated individual with excellent communication, leadership, organizational skills, excellent relationship building skills with the ability to work in a cross functional team environmentKnowledge of Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), FEA, Mold Flow Virtual Validation, GD&T, and i-SpeedWell-rounded outward attitudeWillingness to present to ManagementKnowledge of Quality Methods and tools (Green Belt -- DFSS/Reactive, SBT, 3L5Y)Knowledge of radio head unit software and hardware architectures and corresponding vehicle system architectureAbility to lead PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)Strong technical knowledge of plastic design and system interfaces.Strong technical knowledge of mechanism and moving components interfaces.Strong communications skills system interfaces.Strong technical knowledge of mechanism, latches and moving components interfaces.Demonstrated working knowledge of Powertrain / Engine / Transmission operation and components.
