Overview
The Role
The Group Strategy, Transformation and Risk function within the Strategy, Innovation and Transformation (SIT) Directorate is responsible for reviewing and assessing the emergent business environment, evolving customer needs, identifying potential growth opportunities, and determining ESB’s overall Group Strategy. It is also responsible for managing the Company’s enterprise risk process and ensuring that major risks (and their controls) are identified, monitored, and escalated appropriately through co-ordination of the delivery of the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process. This includes liaising with Business Units/Directorates, Key Corporate Functions, the Executive Committee (ExCo) to ensure that ESB’s critical enterprise-level risks are appropriately monitored and managed. The Strategic Programme Management Office (SPMO), also within Group Strategy, Transformation and Risk function works closely with the ExCo to play a central role in monitoring delivery and implementation of our Strategy through Strategic Initiatives (SIs) and reporting of Strategic Performance Indicators (SPIs).

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a team at the heart of defining and driving the delivery of ESB’s new strategy and co-ordinating the ERM process to support management of risks to strategy delivery. It involves working with key stakeholders across the company, as well as with external stakeholders and vendors. It provides an opportunity to learn more about ESB’s strategic direction and risk environment. The role reports to the Group Strategy and Risk Manager.
Responsibilities
* Support the Group Strategy, Transformation and Risk function in reviewing and assessing the business environment, customer needs, and growth opportunities to inform ESB’s Group Strategy.
* Coordinate the ERM process to ensure major risks and their controls are identified, monitored, escalated, and managed across the organisation.
* Liaise with Business Units/Directorates, Key Corporate Functions, and the Executive Committee (ExCo) to monitor enterprise-level risks.
* Collaborate with the Strategic Programme Management Office (SPMO) to monitor delivery of Strategy through Strategic Initiatives (SIs) and reporting of Strategic Performance Indicators (SPIs).
* Contribute to coordination with ExCo to support delivery and implementation of strategy and risk management activities.
* Engage with internal stakeholders and external partners/vendors as required to support risk and strategy delivery.
