Job Title:Automation Engineer (NPI Projects)Job Type:12-month ContractRate:€50 - €60 per hourLocation:Sligo, IrelandOverviewTheAutomation Engineer (NPI Projects)will providetechnical supportandproject managementfor manufacturing operations andnew product introductions (NPIs). This role will providetechnical leadershipand control of allautomation and control system activitieswithin the facility.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support for all control system-related issues, including troubleshooting, optimisation, and documentation control .Lead control system qualification activities during project start-ups .Manage the lifecycle of onsite control systems in compliance with GAMP-5 standards .Project manage control system components of continuous improvement projects, collaborating with process engineers and other technical teams .Support future integration projects of control systems with MES and ERP platforms .Define proposals for long-term control system maintenance and improvements .Adhere to and promote all EHS policies, procedures, and standards .EHS ResponsibilitiesComply with EHS policies and demonstrate best practices in all work activities.Ensure personal safety and the safety of others, complying with safety notices and barriers.Report EHS incidents and near misses promptly .Participate in EHS training and medical surveillance programs .Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required .RequirementsB.Sc or B.Eng Degree, or Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant technical discipline ( Masters desirable ).3+ years' experience in process automation, including vendor packaged equipment in GMP environments .Experience with 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 requirements for automated systems .Experience in plant start-ups and new product introductions in GMP facilities, with the ability to lead these activities .Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with PLC systems and SCADA/HMI applications ( Allen Bradley & Siemens preferred ).Experience with local machine networks and network integration ( Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, CANBus, Ethernet ).Experience interfacing systems with plant historians using OPC interfaces .Life cycle management experience of control systems, including backup, recovery, user access controls, configuration management, and change management .Knowledge of Windows operating system administration and server management .Top RequirementsPLC & HMI Experience (Allen Bradley & Siemens)Automation System and Equipment Qualification – electrical/mechanical/mechatronics/automationUnderstanding of 21 CFR Part 11 – electronic signatures, records, and traceabilityLocal machine networks and network integrationWindows OS and servers*Only candidates currently based in Ireland with a valid work visa or EU passport will be considered.To discuss this role in more detail, contactCornéat orfor a confidential discussion.
