ROLE PROFILE RETAIL GARDEN DEPT.
SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE OPERATIVE Main Responsibility: - Friendly and efficient customer service in our Home & Garden departments.
Effective merchandising and ensuring clean and attractive displays maintained at all times.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities Sales & Customer Service.
Work with fellow Sales staff to ensure all customers are served without delay in a courteous manner and sales/returns dockets processed in line with company policies.
This includes processing customer orders at Cash desk.
Product Knowledge.To develop & maintain product knowledge levels across all gardening, pet & outdoor clothing categories.
Undertake training in all aspects of our retail Home & Garden product offering as the company requires.
I.T. Systems.
Undertake training as required based on new IT developments introduced by company and as part of your own role development.
Merchandising.Working with dept Head and Retail manager to organise and perform maintenance of Display areas in the area of your responsibility.
Creating & recreating display areas, keeping them clean, presentable & invigorated.
Communication.
To keep Department Head advised of any significant matters relating to operations.
Offer ideas to Dept Head for improved operations.
E.g., Promotions, merchandising, Displays Health & Safety.Ensure you maintain high standards of Housekeeping on a daily basis.
Aisles should be kept free of clutter at all times.
Stock should be displayed safely on shelving and packaging & strapping should be remove from Shop floor, baled & recycled without delay.
